Our apartments in Valle Aurina: the alpine summer of South Tyrol

Everyone should experience a summer with us in Valle Aurina at least once. When the aroma of freshly mown alpine hay wafts through the air, the corn grows sky-high, and the Aurino River carves its way through the verdant valley, a carefree time full of happiness and adventure begins. Our Landhaus Mair zu Hof brings the mountains to your doorstep. We mean that literally. Step outside and you can hike, climb, jog, raft, kayak and paraglide. Here, we’ve listed our top summer activities for you:

Hiking holidays in Valle Aurina

Unspoilt mountains, three thousand meters high. Trails that lead up to the glacier or across to Austria. Idyllic alpine pastures, untouched nature and breathtaking vistas. If you’re searching for a destination for your alpine holiday and looking at hiking trips in South Tyrol, our region is the best choice. Start a tour right from the house or take the cable cars at Speikboden and Klausberg to great heights. With over 350 kilometres of trails and an astounding 84 peaks over 3,000 metres, there’s so much to explore. Host Norbert is always ready to help with tour planning and sharing insider tips.

Campo Tures MTB, e-bike, Enduro and road cycling

Nice and flat straight ahead. Steep climbs. And fast descents. On narrow tyres or wide ones. We’re avid bikers ourselves and happy to advise you. Maybe you’d like to tackle a section of the Transalp Tour or the Val Pusteria cycle path? Just as much fun: taking the cable car up to Klausberg and Speikboden or the Dolomiti Superbike Tour.

Climbing and high ropes courses in the region

Climbing is one of the favourite sports of the Valle Aurina locals. It’s hardly surprising as the cliffs between the Alpi Aurine and the Vedrette di Ries-Aurina Nature Park promise vertical adventures. Besides numerous via ferratas and climbing routes, there are as many as six high ropes courses in the Valli di Tures e Aurina. If you want to test your agility and fear of heights, check out the two high ropes courses in Campo Tures and San Giovanni in Valle Aurina.

Campo Tures a paradise for paragliders

Those in the know understand that the flying here is exceptional. Campo Tures and its Falkenclub are key players in the scene. Along with the popular launch point in Acereto, the take-off spots at Speikboden, Gais and Plan de Corones in Brunico offer a range of flying experiences and breathtaking bird’s-eye views.

(Wild)water sports in Valle Aurina

Wondering where those excited cheers are coming from? They’re from the rafters navigating the Aurino River. Our river is made for a thrilling ride on the wild waters. Kayakers will also find exciting challenges here. Or maybe you’d prefer a canyoning tour to the waterfalls in Valle Aurina?

The Farmhouse Gang children’s programme

Mondays involve hiking with llamas, Tuesdays see you as a castle maiden, Wednesdays as a mountain farmer, Thursdays as a silver miner and Fridays as an ice cave explorer. Children aged 6 to 12 years can enjoy thrilling adventures in Valle Aurina. Find all the details about the Farmhouse Gang holiday programme here.
